HYATT REGENCY NEW DELHI OPENS AN EXPERIENTIAL THEATRICAL BANQUET – THE MANSION

“The Mansion Oval Room is a unique and innovative concept specializing in premium banqueting. This 15,925 sq ft open Show/theatre kitchen will be noted for its new and cutting – edge concepts”, says Aseem Kapoor , Area Director- North West India , and G.M – Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. “It opens its doors in 2014, and unveils the company’s blue-print for all future expansion. This is the first time that a luxury hotel will feature a banquet with the best -in-class kitchen, bar and banquet experience”.

This move is especially significant because it is a culmination of inspiration and learning from the Grand Hyatt – Macau. Somnath De, executive f&b director of the hotel took me around and explained that , “Our patrons’ guidance and feedback has prepared us to enter one of the most progressive and upcoming markets in the world – New Delhi”. De certainly takes his role as f&b director very seriously and has put Hyatt – Delhi, back in the running where food is concerned.

“We’re always looking for new and unique concepts for our guests. The opening of Mansion will complement our existing line-up of indigenous concepts, that we have always been pioneers of”, says Aseem Kapoor who has been a part of the company since the past 18years.

Following in the footsteps of its successes – China Kitchen, La Piazza etc, The Mansion will enable guests to have another experience in an entirely new way, by dreaming of, playing with and choosing menus that would hopefully lead to complete satisfaction.

“We at The Hyatt continually strive to secure ideas that go above and beyond our customers’ dining expectations” , says Shiv Jatia , Owner Hyatt Regency – New Delhi and a successful and experienced Hotelier. “We’re filling in a void in the market-place”. “There is simply no other banquet in the industry that provides an opportunity to get a theatrical experience in luxurious surroundings. We strive for long -term associations with our patrons”.

Like its predecessor in Macau -The Grand Hyatt, The Mansion Oval Room spells good taste and style. Located directly below the Lobby area, this new space has been designed by interior firm HBA from Dubai. With consultations from designer Michelle Evans and architects from Bauer Latoza , studio – Chicago, and lighting by dPa, Dubai. As you enter the gigantic 11 ft high doors of The Mansion’s Oval Room, you are caught in awe of the chandeliers of Finish, Hand blown glass bell with flowing strands of fibre optic filaments. Handmade Kinon wood walls and Marble from Best Cheer, Italy and China. The show kitchen is fitted with Marrone cooking suites from Italy, duck and pizza ovens etc amongst other such ace products for indoor live cooking for different cuisines to be served here, theatrically.

“Where is it written that banqueting has to be boring, or dull, or depressing?” asks Jatia. “Changing that experience into something memorable, exciting and joyful is our whole reason for being”.

The Kitchen team for The Mansion very ably led by Executive Chef Marin A.Leuthard, comprises of Chef Amit Rana, Chef Anil Khurana , Chef Zhang and the very fabulous Corporate Pastry Chef Devender Bungla amongst others.

The soon opening, Mansion is already garnering great feed back. Hope its continues to deliver on its promise to bring “joy” to the lives of its patrons.
